Ridgefield Yard Soil Sampling for Pacific Wood Treating Cleanup
The Department of Ecology and the Port of Ridgefield are studying soil dioxin contamination in yards in Ridgefield. This spring we plan to test soil in yards in the neighborhood south of Maple St and north of Mill St, between Main Ave and Railroad Ave. This is part of the Port's ongoing work to clean up contamination from Pacific Wood Treating under a legal agreement with Ecology. The HSL is a record of contaminated sites throughout the state that are ranked on a scale. Weyerhaeuser Everett West Site (Site) is approximately 35 acres of land located at 101 East Marine View Drive, Everett, Washington 98201. The Site is within, but unrelated to, the Lowland area of the Everett Smelter Site. This Site has completed cleanup, and it no longer represents a threat to human health or the environment. Ecology proposes to remove this Site from the state Hazardous Sites List.
