Public Comment Period: TransAlta Power Plant Settlement Agreement
Ecology is accepting public comment on the draft settlement agreement regarding the Best Available Retrofit Technology (BART) determination and mercury controls for TransAlta's Centralia power plant. The draft BART determination is required under the federal regional haze rules and addresses nitrogen oxide emissions from the power plant. Public Comment Period: Greenhouse Gas Reporting Rule
Ecology has developed a rule for mandatory reporting of greenhouse gas emissions and is developing an emissions reporting system, as required by RCW 70.94.151. The 2008 Legislature required the owners or operators of large fleets of vehicles and large stationary sources of greenhouse gases to begin reporting their emissions in 2010.
